Course Overview
This 15-week course develops AI-driven business intelligence skills, teaching learners to manage and model data, create dashboards, and deliver insights using Excel, SQL, Power Query, and Power BI.
Through an array of interactive labs, captivating lectures, and collaborative projects, learners will design end-to-end BI solutions, apply data quality controls, optimize performance, and communicate insights ethically and effectively.
No college degree is required, although some technical knowledge is recommended for this intermediate-level course.

What You’ll Learn
- Design governed, end-to-end BI solutions with data models, DAX measures, scheduled refresh, and role-based security in Power BI.
- Formulate business questions and analysis plans using AI copilots with documented assumptions, hypotheses, biases, and validation criteria.
- Prepare data with Excel/Power Query and SQL using data-quality checks and basic performance optimization.
- Visualize insights with interactive dashboards, KPI storytelling, and stakeholder-ready narratives for decision-making.
- Demonstrate professional analytics practices, including Git/GitHub version control, reproducible Python/Excel workflows, and ethical AI usage aligned to PL-300 expectations.
- Develop a strong job application package, effective job search strategies, and workplace readiness by building essential professional skills and leveraging AI tools.
You’ll graduate with a portfolio of projects and be equipped to pursue a range of roles, such as Business Intelligence Analyst or Business Intelligence Developer.

To set you up for success, this course requires some technical pre-work before you begin. Pre-work ensures you’re comfortable with key tools and ready to hit the ground running.
- Before your interview: Complete the “Python Essentials 1” course (30 hours)
The course is free, self-paced, and online. We recommend starting early—even before your application is complete—to help you get familiar with key tech concepts and prepare for success.
